ELK1 Reporter System ELK1 (ETS transcription factor ELK1, ELK-1) is a transcription activator which plays important functions in various aspects including long-term memory formation, drug addiction, Alzheimer's disease, Down syndrome, breast cancer and depression. When phosphorylated by MAPKs at its C-terminus, ELK1 is activated and bind to the serum response element (SRE) and regulate downstream gene expression. ELK1 is involved in many signal transduction pathways and can result in the production of many proteins, depending on its co-factors and their specific interactions with each other. For monitoring ELK-1 activities and studying ELK-1 pathways. RGBiotech offers pLV-ELK1-RE-FLuc(Puro) plasmid vector that contains luciferase reporter gene under the control a minimal promoter fused with tandem repeats of serum response element (SRE). Upon stimulation, ELK1 is phosphorylated and activated which subsequently enhance luciferase expression. This plasmid vector is designed for studying ELK1-involved signaling pathways by monitoring luciferase activities.
