INTRODUCTION

Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs) are recombinant receptors that are composed of four regions: an antigen recognition domain (ectodomain), a hinge region, a transmembrane region, and an intracellular T cell signaling domain (endodomain). CAR-T cell therapy uses T cells engineered with CARs to target specific antigen(s) for cancer immunotherapy.

CD20 (also known as MS4A1) is a member of the membrane-spanning 4A gene family. It is a B-lymphocyte surface protein which plays a role in the development and differentiation of B-cells into plasma cells. CD20 protein is a target of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cells used in the treatment of lymphoma.
