VEGFR2 scFv-CD28-CD27-CD3ζ (3rd) CAR Expression Plasmid

INTRODUCTION

Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs) are recombinant receptors that are composed of four regions: an antigen recognition domain (ectodomain), a hinge region, a transmembrane region, and an intracellular T cell signaling domain (endodomain). CAR-T cell therapy uses T cells engineered with CARs to target specific antigen(s) for cancer immunotherapy.

Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2), is also known as KDR (kinase insert domain receptor), CD309 (cluster of differentiation 309), FLK1 (Fetal Liver Kinase 1). It is a type III receptor tyrosine kinase and is a receptor of VEGF which is a major growth factor for endothelial cells. VEGFR2 serves as the main mediator of VEGF-induced endothelial proliferation, survival, migration, tubular morphogenesis and sprouting. VEGFR2 protein is a target of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cells used in the treatment of cancers.
