Adenoviral Plasmids

Adenoviruses are non-enveloped, double-stranded DNA viruses which are commonly used for high-level protein expression in mammalian cells. There are several advantages for using of adenoviruses in gene delivery and expression, including large packaging capacity (>8 kb), high titers, high level of gene expression, almost 100% infection efficiency into a broad range of dividing and non-dividing cell types and no cell genome integration etc. There are several methods for recombinant adenoviru production. The widely used methods involve homologous recombination of adenovirus plasmids in either mammalian or bacterial cells, followed by transfection into mammalian packaging cell lines to generate adenovirus particles.
