Human Serum Albumin Expression Plasmid INTRODUCTION Human serum albumin (HSA) is the most abundant protein present in human blood plasma. HSA constitutes approximately 50% of the serum protein content in healthy humans. HSA is a monomeric plasma protein which is produced in liver and is soluble in water. The main function of HSA involves in the regulation of blood plasma colloid osmotic pressure and works as a carrier protein for a broad range of endogenous molecules such as hormones, fatty acids, metabolites as well as exogenous drugs. This plasmid is designed for expression of Human Serum Albumin (HSA) in mammalian cells such as HEK293 or Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell.
