INTRODUCTION

Denosumab (brand names Prolia, Xgeva) is a human monoclonal antibody that binds to RANKL (receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand). Denosumab works as a inhibitor of RANKL by preventing the development of osteoclasts. Denosumab is used for the treatment of osteoporosis, treatment-induced bone loss, metastases to bone, and giant cell tumor of bone.
