INTRODUCTION

Vedolizumab (brand name Entyvio) is a humanized immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody that binds to integrin α4β7 (also known as LPAM-1, lymphocyte Peyer's patch adhesion molecule 1) which is a dimer of Integrin alpha-4 and Integrin beta-7. Vedolizumab is an integrin blocker and anti-inflammatory agent that is used for the treatment of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
