INTRODUCTION

Abaloparatide (ABL), brand name Tymlos, also known previously as BA058, is an analog of human parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) and contains 34 amino acids. It was approved to treat postmenopausal osteoporosis by the FDA in 2017. ABL is an anabolic agent for the bone. It can increase bone deposition via selective activation of the parathyroid hormone 1 receptor (PTH1R), a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) expressed in the osteoblasts and osteocytes.
