INTRODUCTION Specificity protein 1 (Sp1) is a zinc finger transcription factor that is involved in many cellular processes, such as cell differentiation, growth, apoptosis, immune responses, through binding to GC-rich motifs of gene promoters. The binding site of transcription factor Sp1, also known as Sp1 Response Element (SP1RE), has been identified and characterized in several studies. RGBiotech offers multiple types of pSP1/RE-Reporter plasmids that contains multiple tandem repeats of Sp1 binding sites upstream of a reporter gene driven by a basal / minimal promoter. Our pSP1/RE-Reporter plasmids can be used in monitoring Sp1 activities, screening of Sp1 activitors / inhibitors / homologs, studying regulatory mechanism of Sp1 gene expression, by simply detecting reporter gene expression after delivery of the plasmid into target cells.
