INTRODUCTION Activator protein 1 (AP-1) is a transcription factor composed of proteins belonging to the c-Fos, c-Jun, ATF and JDP families. AP1 transcription factor controls genes involved in cellular processes such as differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. The binding site of AP1 was identified as the 12-O-Tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA) response element (TRE) with the consensus sequence 5’-TGA G/C TCA-3’. RGBiotech offers multiple types of pAP1/RE-Reporter plasmids that contains multiple tandem repeats of AP1 binding sites upstream of a reporter gene driven by a basal / minimal promoter. Our pAP1/RE-Reporter plasmids can be used in monitoring AP1 activities, screening of AP1 activitors / inhibitors / homologs, studying regulatory mechanism of AP1 gene expression, by simply detecting reporter gene expression after delivery of the plasmid into target cells.
