INTRODUCTION Forkhead box O1 (FOXO1) is a FOX transcription factor that exerts functions in gluconeogenesis, glycogenolysis and adipogenesis. FOXO1 transcription factor is known to bind to two conserved DNA motifs, one is the insulin response element (IRE) with consensus sequence 5'-TT(G/A)TTT(G/T)(G/T) -3', the other is Daf-16 family binding element (DBE) with consensus sequence 5'-TT (A/G)TTTAC-3'. RGBiotech offers multiple types of pFOXO1/RE-Reporter plasmids that contains multiple tandem repeats of FOXO1 binding sites upstream of a reporter gene driven by a basal / minimal promoter. Our pFOXO1/RE-Reporter plasmids can be used in monitoring FOXO1 activities, screening of FOXO1 activitors / inhibitors / homologs, studying regulatory mechanism of FOXO1 gene expression, by simply detecting reporter gene expression after delivery of the plasmid into target cells.
